hitchhikers guide to more empathy – #13
we hit the streets, thumbs up, down the road – portraying the people, who give us a ride! welcome to new adventures and undiscovered path . . .
Ismar & and his friend drove by where we had been waiting for a few hours just outside of Salmon Arm. the sun was burning and we started counting the (hippie-) and other funky looking vehicles, that were all not giving us a ride.
hitchhiking can be a very draining, but also learning experience. people pass by and honk, wave, give you the finger, or simply look super cool, alternative etc., but all that doesn’t mean they have to give you a ride.
the two dudes in their big van (running on propane) had a heart and they turned around after a while to pick us up. they belong to this very particular revy-winter-ski-ressort-class, who spend their lives between powder, parties and picking up – haha.
the ride in that living room on whees was comfy, but short and we ended up at probably the worst spot since hitch hiking in the middle of some kamloops badlands .. and then we got picked up by a lovely creep, but thats another story.
