hitchhikers guide to more empathy – #12
we hit the streets, thumbs up, down the road – portraying the people, who give us a ride! welcome to new adventures and undiscovered path . . .
Beth, who picked us up a while ago left us on the side of a highway with good karma and a lot of luck: we waited for about three hours and got a ride (offer) all the way to B.C. – Dan turned out to nice, but somewhat douchy, a type of character that would be with us for long times during this summer. we took him to a friends farm near Thunder Bay and had a sauna-beer-night with a tree planting buddy and his trailer park boys. the more drunk our ride got, the more we realized that we were dancing with the devil: a free ride out west, but with a guy we couldn’t trust. almost there, around Banff he ripped up and down the mountain pass and we nearly ended up in the antler of an elk – first elk in my life, which was a great sighting.
long story short: we didn’t know at that point, that all the Dans we were to meet in 2015 would mean trouble to us and – of course – we for them.
